Continuing Action – Coordinate intergovernmental planning with our crossborder and interregional partners and tribal governments

Binational coordination efforts included meetings of the Borders Committee on October 25, 2019, and May 24, 2019, as well as special meetings of the Committee on Binational Regional Opportunities on October 3, 2019, and December 10, 2019, to discuss issues of binational interest. Coordination with tribal governments took place at the first Tribal Symposium on June 28, 2019, which was a joint meeting between the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association and the SANDAG Borders Committee to discuss policy issues of mutual concern. The Keynote Speaker was Christina E. Snider, a Tribal Advisor from the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom.

Interregional coordination efforts included a quarterly meeting with Imperial County Transportation Commission, Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), and Caltrans partners in October 2019 to discuss planning efforts in San Diego and Imperial County. A quarterly coordination meeting was held with Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), SCAG, and Caltrans partners in December 2019 to discuss planning efforts in San Diego and Orange County.
